Features CRFS Beacons
UVU Student Project: Capitol Reef Field Station (CRFS) promotes and supports engaged learning, research, scholarly, and creative activities, and environmental ethics through the exploration of the Colorado Plateau.
The field station is managed through a partnership between Capitol Reef National Park and Utah Valley University.
The Capitol Reef Field Station app utilizes bluetooth beacons to create a self-guided walking tour, which includes text, audio, and pictures to enhance the userβs experience.
Each beacon location on the tour highlights local topics such as conservation and design aspects of the field station, and the environment and history of Pleasant Creek and Capitol Reef.
This self-guided tour will enrich your Capitol Reef experience by providing fascinating context and helping you understand the world around you.
Our incredible location provides an unparalleled opportunity for place-based learning.
Only 3.5 hours from Utah Valley University and the Wasatch Front, CRFS welcomes students and faculty from institutions of higher learning who seek to experience the natural and cultural legacies of the Colorado Plateau.
Discover many of the natural and cultural legacies of Capitol Reef through the self-guided tour!
